ANYTOWN is a unique artistic collaboration pairing the choreography of Danial Shapiro & Joanie Smith with the legendary music of Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, and Soozie Tyrell (the E Street Band). Touring is slated to begin in summer 2005 and will continue into the 2005-2006 season and beyond.

ANYTOWN creates intelligent dialogue between music and movement by taking its down-to-earth tone, its poignant storytelling, and its musicality directly from the songs. Addressing the concerns of today’s middle and working class, ANYTOWN speaks about our families, feelings, and lives in a web of need, support and desire. ANYTOWN brings together digital technology, contemporary images of community, and music from today. Movement metaphors live beside the lyrics in a setting evoking both real homes and the places where we hope and dream.
